Easter in Cayucos

This Easter we decided to get out of town! I was on Spring break for 12 days and Patrick took some time off to be with us as well. Last minute we decided to rent a beach house in Cayucos, we found a great deal and couldn't pass up the opportunity to spend some fun family time together. The house was on the beach. The only thing separating the patio from the beach was a small patch of ice plant. The water was so close I could have thrown a softball into it, well at least in the good ole days. The weather was super cold and we even had some rain, but we didn't mind. We just played cards and watched the surf from our quaint little beach cottage. With the summer quickly approaching the cold weather was just fine with us. We spent all of our mornings and evenings taking walks along the beach, wading through tide pools and collecting rocks and sea glass. I managed to read a book and the kids played in the sand. We even had a bon fire one night and roasted marshmallows. We went to Cambria, saw the elephant seals, visited the Avila Valley Barn and had lunch at Gus's in San Luis....delicious! It was a perfect four days! Unfortunately, the camera died our second morning, so I only got a few pics of the kids. I think I wasted too many on the beautiful scenery and sunset. The Central Coast has some of the most beautiful coastlines! Here are a few of the pics I did get.
